The blogger pact
I only follow a few blogs. My blog really started just for me to post random stuff, or rants, or raves and has no cohesion, no deep meaning, and no great prose. I've started following some other blogs and I really worry when they stop posting. I wish that there was some blog protocol that requires everyone to tell you that they are ok, or not ok, or that someone will let you know if they've died (yes, that happened to two bloggers I followed). They are my friends and I want to be "there" wherever "there" is for them. I feel such a connection to these women, young and old, that makes me worry if they don't post anything for extended periods. I've felt the blog connection from the readers of my blog (all 4 of you!) I know that you are there for me as I want to be for you. So, we need a blog pact. I'll keep you up-to-date if you keep me up-to-date and if you are going to take a blog break, please let me know. Thanks.

um....i take it you haven't been following Whoopee, Belgian Waffle, Mrs. Trefusis Takes a Taxi, or Nonworking Monkey...They've all gone off and left us hanging for a month or two recently. These are women who are funny as hell, smart, creative--fabulous writers. They never drop notes about their whereabouts or why they've not posted. Sometimes they say they're gonna be off for a while, but that's rare.
thanks for stopping by my blog today. What a lovely surprise.
I love you too! Trust that Brooke has my password and has promised me faithfully that she will post to my blog if something ever happens where I can't.
But I worry too about my pack of she bears :) And I do think we all need to meet someday...

It is concerning when our favorites drop off the radar, and I feel almost guilty about wondering, as if I thought they owed me regular posts or a doctors' note ;-)
