The trailers do look appealing. I will probably go too.
Your potluck sounds like a lot I have been to - people can be stupid or stingy for sure. The consistently best potlucks I ever attended were the monthly ones at a Methodist Church. I always suspected it was the generous nature of Methodists because at least half of the attendees were too poor to bring anything. We all brought our best and plenty of it. We encouraged people to take home leftover plates for their supper or the next day's dinner.
